Closing Workshop of Microfinance for Marginal and Small Farmers (MFMSF) project Focuses on its Achievements and Impacts
The implementation of Microfinance for Marginal and Small Farmers (MFMSF) project ended on 30 June 2011. PKSF conducted a stakeholder workshop with the heading “Microfinance for Marginal and Small Farmers (MFMSF) project: Achievements, Impacts and Lessons Learned” at national level at PKSF Bhaban, Agargoan, Dhaka, on 20 December 2011, in this purpose. The main objective of the workshop was to apprise the major stakeholders of the MFMSF project, and to solicit their views and opinions on the major achievements, constraints, challenges, lesson learnt from this project. The workshop brought a wide range of stakeholders, including the major public sector players in the crop and livestock sectors.
The participants of the workshop made assessments of to what extent the project’s outputs were produced and the stated goal and objectives were achieved. The program was started with the welcome speech of Mr. Golam Touhid, General Manager (Ops), PKSF. Then, the presentation on Project Achievements was done by Dr. M.A. Haider, Training Officer, MFMSFP; whereas Mr. Mahbubul Islam Khan, Consultant, MFMSFP contributed a presentation on Results, Impact and Lesson Learned from the Project. Dr. Quazi Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Managing Director, PKSF was the chair of the workshop. Mr. Md. Fazlul Kader, DMD, PKSF; and Dr. Jashim Uddin, DMD, PKSF had also given their speech at the workshop. PKSF in close collaboration with its 35 POs implemented the MFMSF project in 113 upazilas spread over 14 districts in northwest and north-central Bangladesh, with the financial assistance of IFAD.
